Before becoming a winemaker, Grégory Leclerc tried a little journalism and marketing, but when he met some passionate natural winemakers, including his now wife Anne Paillet, he never imagined where his passion would take him.

After buying 17 acres of vines in 2007 he began his journey with his very own Domaine Chahut & Prodiges. The domaine is situated on the southern side of the Loire Valley on an escarpment about the city of Chargé at the gates of Amboise.  Here, Leclerc organically (not certified) farms Chenin, Sauvignon, Gamay, Côt and Grolleau - no use of pesticides or insecticides.

Planted to soils of mainly limestone and clay, the vines average 25 years in age, while the Grolleau is 60+ years old and planted to flint and clay.

Employing organic treatments only, this is where Gregory's training comes to play.  Since Gregory's winemaking career began in Bordeaux his knowledge is brought to the slopes of the Loire to where he adapts a Bordeaux mixture with a reduced dose of copper.  He also selects to plow the vineyards with a tractor off setting the mechanical tillage with animal powered plowing some of the time to support the surrounding biodiversity of plants, flowers and trees around the vines.
